Electric Fleets Get An Upgrade With New Products and Tech

We opened our doors in September of 2016 with a mission to electrify fleets and decarbonize transportation. Fast-forward six years later and we’ve come a long way. Since 2016, we’ve developed products such as our SV05 stepvan, the Xos Hub™ and our Lyra Series™ battery system all in our Los Angeles HQ, and our flex manufacturing facilities in Byrdstown, Tennessee, and Monterrey, Mexico. During this time period, we developed partnerships with brand-name customers like FedEx Ground, UniFirst, and Loomis. We have also developed partnerships with leading names in the industry such as Allison Transmission, Fitzgerald, Metalsa, and Thermo King.

Our mission has and will continue to be to decarbonize commercial transportation with the most durable, reliable, and cost-effective vehicles possible and the tools to achieve adoption. It’s our goal to make the transition from diesel to electric as seamless as possible for our fleet customers.

The 100% Battery Electric Xos HDXT™

We are building the most connected electric vehicle ecosystem for today. With that said, we are proud to announce two new vehicles that conclude the first phase of the Xos journey of building the best 100% battery-electric commercial trucks. Introducing the Xos MDXT™, our medium-duty box truck, HDXT™, our heavy-duty tractor, and Xosphere™, our fleet management platform.

The Medium Duty Xos Truck (MDXT™) is a 100% battery-electric vehicle available as a Class 6 or Class 7 vehicle, purpose-built for commercial applications with ranges up to 270 miles. Offering a gross vehicle weight rating of up to 26,000 lbs, max torque of 15,300 lb-ft, and 350kW horsepower.

The Heavy Duty Xos Truck (HDXT™) is a 100% battery-electric Class 8 tractor that can travel up to 230 miles and is designed for regional-haul commercial applications. Offering a gross vehicle weight rating of up to 53,200 lbs, max torque of 56,583 lb-ft, and up to 798kW horsepower.

The 100% Battery Electric Xos MDXT™

The Xosphere™ is our advanced connected vehicle ecosystem that combines proprietary hardware and embedded software with a modern and intuitive user platform, and is purpose-built to minimize the total cost of ownership of an electric fleet.

To launch the MDXT™, HDXT™, and Xosphere™, we hosted a Product Reveal Event in Long Beach, California where we showcased our SV05 stepvan and our mobile charging station, the Xos Hub™. To release our new products, our Chief Executive Officer, Dakota Semler, and Chief Operating Officer, Giordano Sordoni, gave keynote presentations, followed by a curtain unveiling of the MDXT™ and HDXT™.

A crucial part of our expansion at Xos is not only creating new products, but also growing our portfolio of partners. With that said, we’re happy to be teaming up with McLane, a leading supply chain distribution company, who has agreed to a 10-truck pilot program of the HDXT™. In addition, Republic National Distributing Company, one of the nation’s leading wholesale beverage alcohol distributors, has purchased 5 MDXT™ vehicles. UniFirst, a North American leader in the supply and servicing of uniform and workwear programs, and one of our current partners, is already using the Xosphere software to track the health of its fleet in real-time.

All three of our new products are available for purchase right now. Contact sales@xostrucks.com to learn more and inquire about special launch rates.

We’re thrilled to introduce our new products, and we aren’t stopping here. We will continue to work with our exceptional customers to build products that help make the transition from diesel to electric as simple as possible. A more sustainable world is possible, and we’re on a mission to build it.
